I saw this one over at Carole's blog and couldn't resist. You know how I love both lists and resolutions!
Top 5 for 2005:
Technique: Since I really got into knitting in 2005, there were a lot of new things for me. But, no technique has impacted my knitting as much as the long-tail cast-on. Makes "do-overs" SO much easier.
Finished Object: I love the Shaker Rib hat that I made for my daughter out of Lamb's Pride Worsted in Periwinkle. So much so that I often grab it on the weekend!
Favorite Knit-A-Long: I thought SocktoberFest was really neat and am currently enjoying Warm Hands and Jaywalker. Knit Unto Others really touched me -- to make really lovely things and give them away is really what being thankful is all about. I made two hats that I loved and tried some new stuff. And, oh yea, I actually finished this knit-a-long!
Favorite Store: I have many that I frequent, but no favorite yet. To be determined in 2006. I will tell you that Johanna and Alison take home the Emmys for absolutely best teachers in yarn stores.
Favorite Tool: My itty bitty crochet hook.
My stats:
- 13 hats
- 2 scarves
- 2 sweaters
- 1 pair of socks
- 2 squares
Five books that I enjoyed in 2005 (my addition to this fun meme):
- The Glass Castle
- Prep
- Travel Team
- Running With Scissors
- The Ivy Chronicles
Five goals for 2006:
- Knit hat for husband (it's black and a 1x1 rib -- can't you understand my procrastination with this!)
- Finish or frog all unfinished projects
- Make Flyingdales cardigan
- Make a lace project
- Practice drop spindle
Your stats cracked me up! How creative :) I love everything you wrote... especially the nice comment about Johanna and Alison. That is so sweet :)

Watch out for that Carole - she's tricksy ;o)

I'm with Carole. I think after a couple months with the drop spindle you'll be wanting a wheel!
